Empowering athletes to cultivate a mindset to enhance their performance and mental wellbeing
About me
A sport and exercise psychologist in training (SEPiT) based in Northwest England. I’m passionate about helping athletes of all ages develop self-awareness of their thoughts and feelings and optimise their mindset to enhance performance and wellbeing.
I am a former elite amateur and professional golfer with a passion and love of multiple sports. I believe my experience as an elite athlete enables me to empathise and develop trust with clients due to my understanding of the stressors and anxieties athletes encounter.
I have sport psychology work experience with Cheshire men’s, boys and ladies’ golf squads, professional golfers, Oldham Athletic Academy and St. Helens Women.

Approach
I adopt a holistic approach to develop the person as well as the athlete. I believe wellbeing and athletic performance are strongly correlated and I aim to help individuals thrive inside and outside sport. I customise a bespoke approach to each individual or team and listen compassionately to understand their needs, challenges and goals to facilitate meaningful change and growth.
My applied practice incorporates an evidence-based approach underpinned by ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy) and mindfulness. The approach aims to increase psychological flexibility by changing a individual’s relationship with their thoughts, being present and behaving in alignment with their values and goals.
Additionally, I incorporate psychological skills (e.g. pre-performance routines, and visualisation) to enhance performance.
